Reseña del libro

Higher education in a war zone? It's what an assortment of educators from Baylor University sought to do in Northern Iraq during 2003-2007, the perilous first years of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The desire to help Iraqi Kurds stand tall again as Iraq post-Saddam was the goal for many within Baylor's faculty, several of whom had been in wartime environments before. One of the trip's lead participants was William Mitchell, who recounts in his new book, Baylor in Northern Iraq During Operation Iraqi Freedom, their five expeditions into Iraq to connect with Iraq's Dohuk University in training educators and shaping the curriculum for higher education. Through a collection of interviews, journal entries and research articles, William pieces together the unbelievable experiences of the journeys: beginning with the timeline of Iraq's past to educating and encouraging Sunni, Yezidi and Christian refugees to see education could be the start of changes to come.
