Children are fascinated by learning about volcanic and glacial action in forming mountains. Sally Machlis is an assistant professor of art and art education at the University of Idaho. She exhibits her mixed media collages and paintings nationally. She lives in Moscow, Idaho with her husband Gary, a professor in forest resources. She is the parent of two daughters.
