This book is a story of a child watching his father deal with the after effects of being exposed to trauma using emotion words that a child can understand. It instills hope in the parent's ability to improve. Even though this book is focused on a father and son, it works for child who has an important adult in their life that could benefit from counseling. Even Heroes Need Help helps normalize a child's own emotional reaction to seeing their parent struggling.Even Heroes Need Help is dedicated to those who put themselves in harm's way to help others. It is for all of the military, police officers, firefighters, first responders, and anyone else who deal with dangerous situations for the good of their community or country. Traumatic stress can happen to the strongest of us. My hope is that this book takes away the stigma of seeking help for PTSD, especially in the bravest of us.
