Reseña del libro

Among the most noted U.S. naval architects of this century, Mr. Niedermair gained early recognition for his role in the salvage of the submarines USS S-51 (SS-162) and USS S-4 (SS-109) during the 1920s. He was an expert in the design and stability of merchant ships. Particularly noteworthy was his long service in the U.S. Navy's Bureau of Ships in the area of preliminary design. He was involved in the design of many types of ships and is credited with the conception and development of the tank landing ship (LST), a workhorse vessel in World War II.
