Chapter 2 - All the Questions Sports enthusiasts who love "wing-shooting," come in two basic categories with the first being the greatest in number. These are: a: Those who hunt and shoot infrequently and miss a lot and b: Those who are excellent to very good; who are proficient through frequent outings and practice sessions. This book can help both types "a" and "b" shooters. For "a" - the Infrequent Shooter If your problem is found in one of the following questions: - Missing all those easy wing shots? - Can't figure how much LEAD to hold? - No one seems to be able to help? Then try these new and revolutionary LEAD-O-TABLES! You too can become an effective wing shot. How much do you LEAD that target; dove, duck, goose or clay? LEAD-O-TABLES will answer that question. Most shooters can estimate speeds and distances. This is all you have to start doing in order to become that great wing shot you have always wanted to be. This will take a little practice and discussion with your hunting partners. For "b" the Frequent Shooter Most of the shooters in this category already have a very high percentage of "hits" or kills. My experience in discussing the LEAD-O-TABLEs with them has shown that the TABLEs become a matter of verification. They typically say after referring to the TABLEs; "Yes, that is about how much I LEAD in that situation, (bird speed and shot velocity)." All the information we need to use the LEAD-O-TABLEs is available by answering the following questions - - What is the muzzle velocity of the shot-shell I am using? - How fast is the bird flying? - How far is that bird from my gun muzzle? Once you do your estimating and apply them to the appropriate LEAD-O-TABLE you have a LEAD to try. These LEADs are based on easily understood Laws of Engineering and Physics.
