The Corinthian church had many issues and questions-about sects, law, sex and marriage, spiritual gifts, church services, and the afterlife-and in I Corinthians Paul provides answers, about love, weaker brothers, and the resurrection. Many of these issues are still with the church today, and Paul's answers are just as cogent as they were then-but often we fail to understand them. The analyses here provide insights into the oft-misunderstood explanations offered, such as whether we should file lawsuits, when divorce is permissible, how the weaker brother restricts us, and more. Mark Joseph Young began parachurch ministry in 1972, and obtained degrees in Biblical Studies from Gordon College and Luther College of the Bible and Liberal Arts, a doctorate from Widener University School of Law, and a Mensa membership. Serving for over 25 years as Chaplain of the international interdenominational Christian Gamers Guild, he teaches intensive undergraduate-level courses in the New Testament, and has published numerous articles about integrating faith with our ordinary lives.
