Nacido el 19 de noviembre de 1951 en Brooklyn, Nueva York, es un pianista y compositor estadounidense reconocido por su contribución al jazz contemporáneo. Desde temprana edad, mostró un talento excepcional para la música, iniciando su formación en piano clásico y participando en conjuntos de canto y baile. A lo largo de su carrera, ha trabajado con destacados músicos y ha lanzado varios álbumes que han sido aclamados por la crítica. Además de su carrera musical, Werner es autor de varios libros sobre música y desarrollo personal.

Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentran: "Effortless Mastery: Liberating the Master Musician Within" (1996), un libro que ofrece enfoques innovadores para superar bloqueos creativos y alcanzar el máximo potencial musical; "Becoming the Instrument: Lessons on Self-Mastery from Music to Life" (2018), donde comparte lecciones sobre la autocomprensión y el crecimiento personal a través de la música; entre otros.
