Very little is know about Jesus' childhood -- until now. In Kid Jesus, Rev. Mark Luke-John Matthews shares a vivid dream he had of the Messiah's tenth year treading upon the earth. The Reverend's off-beat, humorous dream features the details of Jesus' life dealing with two fathers in a chaotic world. His Heavenly Father, God, provides divine guidance heard only be Jesus. On their journey north through the desert, they meet Roman border guards, Baldinus and Ignoramus, who won't let them pass into Israel until they pay tribute. Help comes in the form of fellow travelers, Ima Paganus and Isme Jewtu, who challenge Josef to follow Jesus' lead and love and respect all regardless of their lineage or religion, before giving them coins to pay the required tribute. Once in Nazareth, Jesus, true to his later life, challenges Roman Governor Pontius Pilate and Jewish high priest Caiaphas over their unwillingness to help the poor and sick. He also makes friends with child versions of Apostles Simon Peter and Doubting Thomas and Mary Magdalene. As Jesus' teachings and miracles become well known, he increasingly poses a threat to Pilate's and Caiaphas' rule over the people of Nazareth. Caiaphas hires Judas Iscariot, a well known weasel and bully, to stop Jesus. The resolution of their conflict will entertain and inspire you to follow God's word. Kid Jesus, essentially Bible fan fiction, is meant to be a fun way for people to learn Christ's basic teachings without the staid wall that too often keeps people from truly understanding and embracing them.
