John Eldredge es autor, consejero y maestro. También es presidente de Ransomed Heart, un ministerio dedicado a ayudar a las personas a descubrir el corazón de Dios, recuperar sus propios corazones y aprender a vivir en el Reino de Dios. John creció en los suburbios de Los Ángeles y pasó los veranos de su niñez en el rancho de ganado de su abuelo en el este de Oregón.

Conoció a su esposa, Stasi, en la escuela secundaria (en la clase de teatro). Pero su romance no comenzó hasta que ambos llegaron a la fe en Cristo, después de la escuela secundaria. John obtuvo su licenciatura en teatro en Cal Poly y dirigió una compañía de teatro en Los Ángeles durante varios años, antes de mudarse a Colorado con Focus on the Family, donde enseñó en el Focus on the Family Institute.

John obtuvo su maestría en Consejería de la Universidad Cristiana de Colorado, bajo la dirección de Larry Crabb y Dan Allender. Trabajó como consejero en una práctica privada antes de lanzar Ransomed Heart en 2000. John y Stasi viven en Colorado Springs con sus tres hijos (Samuel, Blaine y Luke).
