Imagine striking up a conversation today with an ordinary-looking stranger, and He turned out to be Jesus Christ in the flesh! What would it be like to see Him, talk to Him, and spend time with Him? How would He react to this world, and how would it react to Him? The New Testament tells us that Jesus came to earth at the perfect time-and planet earth hasn't been the same since. But what if God had waited a couple of millennia longer to become flesh and walk among us, delaying His coming until our time? Do we dare say, as the Pharisees assured themselves, "If we'd lived in the time of our forefathers, we wouldn't have joined them in persecuting the prophets?" Doubtless, without the powerful influence of Jesus' life and teachings, history would have played out much differently, and our society would not be as we know it. This account of such a modern day gospel is set in an America-like land that, though the culture is familiar, necessarily differs from ours. The freedoms and truths we take for granted are not so self-evident in this imaginary place. Jesus was born in a country occupied by foreign troops, and that is how the political landscape is portrayed here. This retelling of the story of God's coming to us in human form has been removed from the Shakespearean stage where we like to keep it, and has been returned to street level where we live-where it actually happened. Setting the gospel in modern times is not a new idea, but this adaptation is more than just an intellectual exercise-it poses the question: If He had come to our time, how would we have responded to the Savior, without the benefit of two millennia of history and tradition to help us understand and accept who He is? Ten years in the making, Seeker of Hearts is based on the gospel accounts of Jesus' time among us, with the events and dialog paralleling Scripture as closely as possible. Come walk with Him and share his incomparable life as if you were alongside Him, listening to His teachings and witnessing His miracles. Share in events taken straight from the New Testament, transported into our time and culture as if they were happening today. No one who meets the Seeker of Hearts walks away unchanged!
