Set in New Mexico, St Agnes’ Stand is a classic story of the American West.Nat Swanson is on the run from a mob of Texas cowboys. Thomas Eidson (nacido en 1944) es un autor estadounidense reconocido por sus novelas ambientadas en el Viejo Oeste del siglo XIX. Comenzó su carrera literaria a los 50 años con "St. Agnes' Stand" (1994), que recibió elogios por su narrativa y ambientación.

Su obra más destacada es "The Last Ride" (1995), publicada en español como "La última galopada". Esta novela fue adaptada al cine en 2003 por el director Ron Howard bajo el título "The Missing" ("Desapariciones" en algunos países hispanohablantes), protagonizada por Tommy Lee Jones y Cate Blanchett.
