(Massachusetts, 1904 - California, 1991) Famoso bajo el seudónimo de Dr. Seuss (en homenaje a su padre), Theodor Seuss Geisel fue un escritor y caricaturista estadounidense conocido por sus libros infantiles. Gran parte del triunfo se debe a haber publicado en un momento (los años 50) en que las lecturas escolares presentaban personajes infantiles demasiado rígidos, extremadamente educados y poco imaginativos, con los que ningún niño podía ni quería sentirse identificado.
