The Life and Works of Robert Wood: Classicist and Traveller (1717-1771) (en Inglés) - Finnegan, Rachel ; Mulvin, Lynda

There is a lot of interesting material here but some slightly annoying overlap and careful searching required if, like me, me you are trying to work chronologically and particularly understand his times in Rome and relationship with Allan Ramsay, Robert Adam and the Catholic Abbe Peter Grant (the latter who was not a Jesuit as stated in Ingells incidentally). He must also have met the lady called Mrs Elliot who formed part of The Caledonian Club at the time though I suspect she, too, was probably Scoto-Irish but so far I have been unable to prove this. Nevertheless there is much that I have been unable to find in other sources so it has value for my own studies. For an academic book these days it is reasonably priced. Not sure that its high quality gloss paper was necessary as there are few colour illustrations, though, of course it makes it pleasant to handle if not to pencil mark the text to refind quickly the info needed and then to rub them out again.
