Reseña del libro "United Nations vs Israel and the End of the World (en Inglés)"

"Jerusalem will be a heavy stone burdening the world...all the nations of the earth unite in an attempt" to impose their solution, according to the ancient prophecy of Zechariah 12:3. (Living Bible) This book demonstrates how today's events are moving in that direction. It points out that "Jerusalem shall be...under a special international regime...administered by the United Nations," according to General Assembly Resolution 181. And, "Any actions taken by Israel, the occupying Power, to impose its laws, jurisdiction and administration on the Holy City of Jerusalem are illegal and therefore null and void," according to another UN General Assembly Resolution passed in November 2011. So, as the Bible predicted, Jerusalem has become a problem for the whole world, and the nations are united in an attempt to impose their solution. David A. Reed's book goes on to show how Bible prophecy indicates that this focus on Jerusalem will lead to a military confrontation -- in Israel -- between God and the armies of the world: "'At that time, when I restore the prosperity of Judah and Jerusalem, ' says the LORD, 'I will gather the armies of the world into the valley of Jehoshaphat'" [in Israel]. (Joel 3:1-2 NLT) "They go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle...to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon." (Revelation 16:14-16 NIV) Why believe that Bible prophecy has any real relevance to today's world? Reed points to the Bible's track record: More than 2000 years ago it predicted that the gods of the gentile nations -- Baal, Ashtoreth, Chemosh, Dagon, Artemis, Zeus and the rest--would be abandoned and forgotten, while the God of Abraham would come to be worshiped worldwide by people of all nations. That prediction seemed laughable when it was made, because those other gods were much more popular than the unseen God of the tiny Hebrew nation, but billions of Muslims, Christians and Jews today prove the prophecy was right on target. Reed also points out that, as far back as the books of Moses, the Bible foretold that the Jewish people would be uprooted from the Promised Land and would be scattered throughout the world, only to be restored as a nation thousands of years later, shortly before the end of the world. The events of 1948 and 1967 fulfilled exactly what was predicted. The author goes on to discuss passages that foretold the Holocaust, as well as worldwide anti-Semitism. God said, "I will make them hated by all the kingdoms of the earth. People will curse them," according to the Hebrew prophet Jeremiah. (29:18 NCV) Reed also explains how, by building the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque on God's holy Temple Mount, Islam has seated itself in God's place, fulfilling the prophecy of 2 Thessalonians 2:4 of an Antichrist who "takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God." (NASB) And he documents that Martin Luther, John Calvin and other notable teachers spoke of Islam as such an Antichrist. Besides events surrounding Jerusalem, Reed calls attention to other fulfillments of prophecy in our day, including climate change and global warming. The "terrible disasters" predicted in the book of Revelation (9:20-21, 15:1, 16:8-9) include deforestation and loss of marine life. What will you need to know, to navigate through coming world events, and to survive? The author brings this Bible information together in concise and readable form. DAVID A. REED served for a decade as a contributing editor of Dr. Walter Martin's Christian Research Journal and has authored more than a dozen books on Bible topics. His books include Parallel Gospels in Harmony--with Study Guide (Lulu), Mormons Answered Verse by Verse (Baker Book House), Come Follow Jesus!--the Real Jesus (CreateSpace), and the popular Jehovah's Witnesses Answered Verse by Verse (Baker Book House).
