The anticlimax: after a lapse of time, the man, who got his eyesight, developed a monstrous headache, simply because he had witnessed some of the heinous atrocities of the modern world. Just then, at his earnest request again, the most merciful remedy on the part of Jesus was to make that man blind again. These twenty-two stories, beautifully composed by Thomas George Santhinagar, a prolific writer, represent, at large, the shocking cross section of the modern psyche with its varied and immense potential in the socio-political arenas. The efficacy of these stories elevates the readers to an evocative experience as well as introspection. The writer has skillfully woven into the fabric of fiction polished black humor, irony, satire and sarcasm to incisive, aesthetic perfection. What more should we demand from a story-writer?
