Growing up in this world is rarely a straight line. It bends, it breaks, it doubles back on itself. One day you're a kid trying to understand why your parents are divorcing, and the next day you're learning how to welcome a new baby brother into a family that no longer looks the way it used to. Life doesn't ask permission before it rearranges everything you thought was solid.

The poems in this collection come from those rearranged spaces - the cracks, the quiet corners, the moments when the world feels both too loud and too empty. They are simplistic in their language at times, but never in their meaning. Beneath each line are layers upon layers of deceit, tenderness, treachery, longing, humor, and the strange ache of being human. Some of these pieces may make you laugh.
