Dr. Solomon Forte has lost everything. There is little left but to offer himself to the wretched in war-torn Sudan. He falls deeply for a gorgeous, but outwardly hardened, British nurse. When she disappears from camp, he spends what strength is left searching for her. A Heart Wind from the Desert examines the need in all of us to accomplish something meaningful in the tiny fragment of time we are allotted, and the impossible hurdles faced when trying to change the way people have thought and behaved for the millennia. It is a tale of beautiful, warm children, but also of the stark life in the sub-Saharan Sahel.
