Hakeem R. Jelani is 73 years old. He has had quite an interesting detour into writing. He has an eccentric, fanciful, fictional, creative story to tell you.

Before becoming an author, on March 28, 1971, he joined and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was honourably retired on April 1, 1995, from the military after serving 24 years, at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He had to adjust to civilian life in Florida.

From the beginning, Hakeem was pursuing a challenging life in sports as an amateur boxer while in high school.

In 1970, he won both the Omaha City and Midwestern Golden Glove tournaments, entering the highly competitive Open Flyweight class division and winning the championship title in both tournaments.
