A win for The United States that wanted, among other things, to divert American people attention, because from 1960 through 1970 American society was a convulsed one. A win for the chess community which could sell thousands of chess- related books, magazines, boards and pieces, software and computers all around the world. The chess players would get their share through book writng and a lot of "major" tournamnet sponsors. Nobody wanted to "defeat Bobby".
