Reseña del libro "Boy, Did We Live! (en Inglés)"

What was it like to grow up in post-war Germany, surrounded by the scientists, engineers and visionaries rebuilding a shattered nation? To a little Australian girl, they were simply family friends.Only years later did she realise that many of them had helped shape the modern world. From wartime Australia to post-war Germany, this is the remarkable true story of one extraordinary family, led by a father whose work in reconstructing German science and technology played an important part in rebuilding a nation. Through his daughter's eyes, history comes vividly to life as famous names become ordinary people, and childhood memories unfold against the backdrop of world-changing events. Her own journey would prove no less remarkable. From forty exciting years as an interpreter and translator at Scotland Yard to a life of adventure shared with her beloved husband, Steven, she discovered that the greatest stories are often the ones we never realise we are living. Warm, humorous and deeply moving, Boy, did we Live! Is a celebration of family, friendships, resilience and the extraordinary privilege of living through history but growing up as part of it. She thought she was simply living her life. Only later did she realise she had been living history.
