We dedicate this book to our talented and generous friend, Sandra Lynn Becker, an original member of the Kitchen Table Poets, a poetry workshop and critique group that began gathering at Marie Kane's kitchen table in August 2009.All of the poets in Carry Us to the Next Well are active members of Kitchen Table. Sandy took her participation in our critique group seriously, often carrying poems home to give further feedback. We see her insightful and revelatory commentary in this book's poems, many of which she helped to edit. We loved her for this significant poetic support, and for her intense interest in people-apparent to anyone who met her.
