"Calico" Jack Walker is a year into retirement-sun-burned, salt-worn, and captain of his own fishing charter out of King Harbor. It was supposed to be the quiet life. Then two strangers booked his boat for a thousand dollars cash, and before the morning was out, his son was bleeding on the deck with a bullet in his head.

Meanwhile, his ex-partner and lover, Tina Tamiko, is knee-deep in her first detective case: someone is planning to hijack the last LAPD property barge in history-a floating arsenal of confiscated drugs and weapons headed for the ocean floor. The closer she gets, the darker it becomes: a good cop framed for murder, stolen drug money handed out like charity, and a crew of desperate men who will sink anyone who gets in their way.

Walker and Tamiko thought they were done with the job...but the job isn't done with them.
