It is the result of twenty-seven years of well-documented research by the author. The book covers primarily Pennsylvania, North Carolina and the majority of northeast and central states. Wherever possible the author has included copies of wills, photos, and referenced records of births, deaths, marriages and burials. The book is divided into six chapters dedicated to the immigrant, Johann Jacob Lantz (1721-1789) and his five known children (and their descendants): Johann Jacob Lantz (1744-aft. 1800), Susanna Catharina Lantz (1745-ca. 1820), Henry Lantz (1746-1802), Johann George Lantz (1751-1827), and Magdalena Lantz.
