Reseña del libro "Egyptian Tales and Romances: Pagan, Christian and Muslim (en Inglés)"

Egyptian Tales and Romances: Pagan, Christian and Muslim is a collection of ancient Egyptian stories and legends compiled by E. A. Wallis Budge, a renowned Egyptologist and scholar. The book includes a variety of tales that span different periods of Egyptian history, from the pagan era to the Christian and Muslim periods. The stories are a mix of myths, legends, and historical accounts, featuring gods, goddesses, pharaohs, and ordinary people. Some of the tales are well-known, such as the story of Isis and Osiris, while others are more obscure. They offer a glimpse into the beliefs, customs, and traditions of ancient Egypt. The book is divided into three sections, each focusing on a different period of Egyptian history. The first section covers the pagan era and includes stories about the creation of the world, the gods and goddesses, and the afterlife. The second section covers the Christian period and includes stories about saints, miracles, and martyrs. The third section covers the Muslim period and includes stories about prophets, saints, and mystics.Overall, Egyptian Tales and Romances: Pagan, Christian and Muslim is a fascinating and comprehensive collection of ancient Egyptian stories that will appeal to anyone interested in mythology, history, or ancient cultures.1931. Includes sections relative to Pagan, Christian and Muslim. These translations and summaries of the contents of Egyptian tales and stories are intended to illustrate the fiction and historical and religious romances of the Egyptians from the early dynastic period to the present day. In all three groups of tales found within, the translations have been made as literal as is consistent with intelligibility. Profusely illustrated. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
