$ 92.892Flights of Nature is a collection of lyrical and expressive writings and images inspired by places on the North Downs' Way's eastern ring, a mandala of land. Taking the months of the year as template for this circle, it delves reflectively into the dark periods of recent and current times--when despite our own disorientation--nature could still be dependable and uplifting. As landscape resonates within us, Flights of Nature celebrates the heights of imagination piqued by the vibrancy of countryside..
"This piece allowed me space to appreciate the joyous landscape of southern England." -- Bradt Travel Guides
"Maryanne writes very well, with a rare lightness of touch. She pulls off a difficult trick, that of weaving together a coherent and readable tapestry of prose." -- Alba Publishing
"An interesting combination of lyrical and erudite writing the likes of which I have never seen before. So in effect it appeals to both sides of the brain." -- Victor R. Volkman, Superior Reads
"These pieces are beautifully written and evocative... the book deserves to see the light of day." -- Claret Press
"I thought this was a fascinating premise and was written very engagingly." -- Laxfield Literary Associates
"Your work needs more than a little airing. It's deep, and it dances." -- Richard Hall
