Reseña del libro "I'm Scared (en Inglés)"
Nate Nuthatch is scared! Mama is coaxing him out of their cozy and comfortable nest, and Nate is not happy. He doesn't want to make friends or learn to fly even though Mama says it is time. Mama gently pushes him from the nest and Nate begins an adventure as he flutters and lands in the soft long grass under his nest. As Nate cautiously navigates the frightening ground foliage, he approaches a pond and meets Lila Loon. Lila asks Nate to swim with her, but Nate is much too afraid. Lila assures Nate that she will help him. Nate reluctantly accepts Lila's help. He not only learns to swim, but grins with joy as he learns his feathers help him float. Nate moves on, happy he learned to swim, but still afraid of flying. Along the way he makes several new friends. Nate water skis with Woody Duck, rides a skateboard with Tanya Turkey, attends school with Oliver Owl, and slides down a twisty slide with Cherry Chickadee. He's gaining more confidence and facing his fears along the way. At last, he bounces on a trampoline with Quentin Quail. Nate bounces with trepidation, but as he gains altitude, and flaps his wings, he no longer fears learning to fly. Soon, high over the trampoline with Mama cheering him on, Nate begins to fly. Mama joins him and they soar together above the treetops. This is a story of encouragement for young children, especially the timid child, to step forward with a little faith in the face of fear, accept help and support from friends and family, develop new skills and talents, and enjoy the rewards.
