Ron Maydole created a successful Loss Prevention Department while working for a large merchant. That merchant started to experience fraudulent attempts like never before. Those attempts were the result of expanding into larger markets. He was tasked to look into the root cause of the fraud and eventually was tasked to create this department.It was not an easy task due to limited resources, but he persevered. Eventually, programs were created to flag accounts for review. On a yearly basis, the department would review about 98,000 transactions for a $2 billion company, where they stopped about $5 million in fraudulent attempts while writing off around $350,000.While attending Master's classes, he was introduced to a book regarding managerial change. While reading, he realized that he had accomplished each of these stages and decided to explain what he had experienced. Ron realized that if he had read this book earlier, the changes that he implemented would have occurred earlier.The last class he attended was to write his thesis. He wrote about identity theft. The complete thesis is included, along with tips on how to avoid becoming a victim. Ron has a passion to educate the masses on how to protect themselves. That started when he wrote loss prevention newsletters and training classes regarding fraudulent schemes. He had a desire to combine everything into one outlet.
