When Jonty's parents go away, Jonty is a little uneasy about spending his summer vacation with Grandma Gladys. His grandmother is lots of fun, but Jonty knows he is going to miss his parents. Spending time with Grandma Gladys turns out to be even more surprising than Jonty imagines. He meets the “Bun Angels,” watches for a scary pike that lives under the dock, and finds unusual treasures in Grandma’s old dresser. But Grandma’s birthday party turns out to be the best day of all. --- Farmor Elin är väldigt speciell. Hon ger sig tid att prata med alla i grannskapet. Famo har också tid för sin bästa sommargäst Jonte som får vara med om allt möjligt roligt. Famo har en egen klubb, Bullänglarna, som samlas i vardagsrummet för att dricka kaffe och äta något gott. På vägen till stugan på Granudden stannar Jonte och famo i handelsboden där famo till Jontes stora förfäran köper de mest konstiga matvaror. Affärens utbud på leksaker är också väldigt litet. I stugan väntar famos byrå med sina hemligheter, och under bryggan bor det kanske en jättegädda. Åskan mullrar, och taket läcker, men med famo har Jonte gott att vara.
