First published in 1891, Howard Pyle's "Men of Iron" is the realistic and engaging tale of Miles Falworth, a young squire who comes of age in the 15th century. Pyle was a classically trained illustrator and attended the Drexel Institute of Art, Science, and Industry, and founded his own school called the Howard Pyle School of Illustration and Art.
