Reseña del libro "Merlin's Pig (en Inglés)"

Myrddin would like a quiet life, a warm kitchen, and enough flour to keep the bread coming. Unfortunately, Britain has decided he is Merlin. Kings have very little use for a wizard who would rather be a baker. It begins with a frightened king, a crumbling fortress, and a boy marked for sacrifice. Myrddin survives, but his survival becomes a miracle, the miracle becomes a legend, and the legend becomes a job nobody will let him leave. Every practical answer sounds like prophecy to someone determined to hear it. Every attempt to get away gives the storytellers more material. With a pig for company, Myrddin finds himself caught between royal ambition and ordinary human decency. He can soothe an illness, explain a disaster, and see through a king’s nonsense. Persuading anyone to listen is another matter. As the future of Arthur’s Britain takes shape around him, protecting the people he loves will require more than a reputation for impossible powers. Merlin’s Pig is an irreverent, darkly funny Arthurian retelling about friendship, survival, and the making of legends. Behind the prophecies and royal proclamations stands a man trying to do some good, get home safely, and avoid being mistaken for a miracle again. His pig generally has more sensible ambitions.
