Through chapters written by experts who have implemented the optimization of behavioral and biobehavioral interventions, this book presents the statistical analyses, adaptive interventions and implementation examples based on real-word projects. Biobehavioral interventions (BBIs) are programs with the objective of improving and maintaining human health and well-being, broadly defined, in individuals, families, schools, organizations, or communities, using a strategy that at least in part involves modifying attitudes, cognitions, or behavior. Behavioral interventions are special cases of BBIs that include only behaviorally based strategies. BBIs may be aimed at, for example, preventing disease, treating disease, promoting health, preventing violence, or improving academic achievement. BBIs have tremendous potential to affect many aspects of human life positively. Behavioral scientists who develop and evaluate behavioral and biobehavioral interventions, statisticians, and methodologists who specialize in development and evaluation of BBIs will find this book to be an important reference and guide for their research. This book builds on the methodology presented in the monograph, "Optimization of Behavioral and Biobehavioral Interventions" by Linda Collins (Springer, 2018).
