I would like to dedicate the words written in this poetry book collection to every single individual that I have encountered throughout my lifetime; even the negative elements. For, if I never seen or felt the wrath of your power; these images would have never been imprinted in my mind. Although, the visions that the corrupted and the evil has bestowed upon me, aren't always the best images one should be carrying around with them. Those very images also truly opened my eyes to what lies within the depths of this world. I have seen it. I have felt it. I have lived it and I have survived it all. I have two words to say to everyone period that has been involved in my life and those words are thank you. Thank you for blessing me with this gift. Know that you have not beaten me. For, I am the true winner here. Through your heinous and cruel attempts to break something that is unbreakable. You have only made me stronger and more powerful. Having suffered through all that I have, I now have more belief in this world and the people in it, than I ever have before. And I also want to thank all of you for reading my words of both triumph and defeat. Hopefully they can reach someone else who has once been through the unimaginable and provide them with hope. I am living proof that things do in-deed get better. The poems that dwell within Reflections & Shadows are just that. Reflecting back on the shadows of a life that haunt this strong survivor to this day. Given away to an abusive family by the very people that brought her into this world, the Author had to find an outlet or risk going insane. Having nothing else to turn to, she found her vintage point behind the pen she held in her hand. It was her only release, her only escape from the reality that surrounded her. Each one of these poems tells a story of either triumph or defeat, creating visual art with her words through all elements of life; strength, betrayal, abandonment, violation, love, sorrow and success. The words that live within the depths of this book are very empowering and humbling as well. Let this survivor's words of agony and accomplishment etch themselves into your soul. This is truly an inspiring, one of a kind poetry collection and you will never look at life the same after reading it.
