We work with nonlinear parabolic-elliptic equations derived from Richards' model for unsaturated flow in porous media. Since classical weak solutions are not unique, we operate within the framework of renormalized solutions, which select the physically relevant solution via an energy dissipation condition at infinity. Existence is established using a double approximation scheme (¿m,n) combined with nonlinear semigroup theory, while uniqueness follows from a comparison principle obtained via the doubling-of-variables technique. We also present an iteration scheme-combining finite elements, implicit Euler, and Picard methods-validated gainst the Brooks-Corey soil model.
