Ruptures examines how radical discontinuities—both real and imagined—manifest in Latin American contexts and thought. The book explores rupture as a form of apocalyptic revelation that contains both destructive and generative potential, analyzing how moments of profound break or disruption can lead to new forms of world-making. Through various perspectives from and about Latin America, it investigates these transformative moments across social, political, and ecological domains. 

The series Apocalyptic and Post-Apocalyptic Studies is edited by the Käte Hamburger Centre for Apocalyptic and Post-Apocalyptic Studies (CAPAS) at Heidelberg University. The series highlights thought-provoking voices and wide-ranging perspectives that explore the ends of worlds and their various cultural, political, and material implications.
