A sudden noise at his side brought Corbett out of his reminiscence of the past. A butt in faded jeans was right in his face as he came straight up in his seat. A voice, loud and angry, cracked the silence of the passenger car. "I'm stoppin' this train and you're gettin' off!" Apparently there had been some form of conversation going on before Corbett was rousted. Across the aisle, the girl whimpered in a frightened voice, "No-I won't stay here. I'm going back home!" Corbett heard the ripping of material. The next instant, he was out of his seat. Grabbing the man, Corbett spun him about to face him. The look in Corbett's eyes sent a signal that would have made most men cringe. "What's going on here?" he demanded. Sheriff Corbett Ashley, a man more handsome than any law should allow, had an old letter from a wife who hadn't wanted to see him for years, and one from his father with a mysterious request for him to come home-and a persistent interest in the confoundingly fiesty new dressmaker in town. All of those things would have to be dealt with, and the holstered forty-five hanging from a gun-belt on his right hip wouldn't be much help. But who could have guessed things would work out the way they do! As with any Western romance, one would expect a little gunplay, a little fist-to-fist-play, a little blood-spilling, a little romance, and a nice bit of humor to flavor up the story. I hope this book doesn't disappoint my readers, as it is a combination of all of the above:
