As anyone who cares for children knows, stories have a wonderful way of commanding a child's silent, undivided attention. Stories spark curiosity and imagination. They can also inspire quiet thought and contemplation, encouraging children to look outside themselves and take in more of the world around them.

This book is my contribution to the world of storytelling. It was inspired by my seven-year-old son, who wanted to share his favourite Romanian folk tales with children everywhere. This book is our gift to you. It is our wish that they entertain and inspire.
