Who will sacrifice their own life and keep their lamps burning continuously for the Beloved? Who will pursue the call to intimacy, purity and holiness? Who will go deep in surrender and sit at His feet? Who will walk in obedience and live a life of pure devotion?Revival is exciting, and to see all that God is doing across the nations is amazing. However, it's so easy to get excited and caught up in what He does, forgetting who He is. We need to realise that true revival starts on the inside of us through a relationship with God which then overflows out of us, reviving the nations. A word God gave me in June 2023 was "inside out revival". This revival needs to start on the inside of us as followers of Christ Jesus, then work its way out to impact the world! Revival in my own life began back in 2017. I had come back to Christ after years of emptiness and turmoil, which was followed by years of wishy-washy, lukewarm Christianity. I was so confused about not seeing today what I would read about in my Bible, and so I would question God and question the authenticity of the body of Christ.Then one Sunday morning at the back of my Baptist church, everything changed. I was a tired, single mum with her baby, only months old, in her arms, starving for more. In one single moment of wholehearted surrender God showed up and proved himself in a profound way and I experienced for myself His true power and love, which transformed every sphere of my life. This lead to a deep hunger and thirst in me for more of the true and living God! By cultivating a lifestyle of devotion, pursuing holiness and walking in faith, a revival took place inside me and a beautiful relationship with God was birthed. These are some of the things I have learnt along the way.
