Reseña del libro "The Last Generation"
What if you knew your home wouldn’t survive your lifetime… and you were the last one left to remember it? Mari never cared much for the postcard version of Key West—the sunsets, the tourists, the filtered perfection. She saw something else entirely: the rust, the decay, the slow, undeniable collapse of a place she’s always called home. But now, the collapse isn’t just metaphorical. The waters are rising. The storms are relentless. The government has begun its “managed retreat.” Families are leaving. Schools are shutting down. And Mari’s time is running out—just sixty days before she’s forced to abandon everything she knows. She isn’t alone. With her best friends—idealistic Kai, determined Leo, and the unlikely genius Finn—Mari sets out to do something no one else has dared to attempt: preserve what’s left. Not just memories, but proof. A living archive. A digital time capsule of a disappearing world. But saving the past comes at a cost. What begins as a desperate mission to document their home quickly turns into something far more dangerous—a high-stakes race against time, authority, and the very forces erasing their island. As the group pushes deeper into abandoned places and impossible choices, they’re forced to confront a haunting question: When everything is being lost… what is worth saving? The Last Generation is a gripping, atmospheric coming-of-age story set against the slow collapse of a coastal world. Blending climate fiction, emotional realism, and high-stakes adventure, it explores friendship, identity, and what it means to leave a mark when everything you love is disappearing.
