On the basis of systematically sorting out the theoretical genealogy and essence of Zheng Hangsheng's sociology theory, this book systematically explains how Zheng Hangsheng became a precursor, advocate, forerunner, and promoter of theoretical self-consciousness, and scientifically evaluates the theoretical value and methodological significance of his thoughts on theoretical self-consciousness, in the light of the four dimensions of the current situation and perceptions, disciplinary mission and discourse transformation, knowledge production and physical practice, and topicality and application expansion. The ideological legacy of theoretical self-awareness has become the collective memory and power of action of contemporary Chinese sociologists.
