Chan de Harvard, profesor asociado de Trata de Seres Humanos y Esclavitud Moderna en la Universidad de Nottingham, y forma parte del Rights Lab’s Measurement and Geographies Programme. Es autor de tres libros sobre la esclavitud moderna: Sex Trafficking: Inside the Business of Modern Slavery (2009); Bonded Labor: Tackling the System of Slavery in South Asia (2012); y Modern Slavery: A Global Perspective (2017). Kara adaptó su primer libro a una película de Hollywood, Trafficked, y es autor de los reportajes: Tainted Carpets: Slavery and Child Labor in India’s Hand-Made Carpet Sector (Harvard, 2014), y Tainted Garments: The Exploitation of Women and Girls in India’s Home-Based Garment Sector (UC Berkeley, 2019).
