It would be as hard to overestimate the impact of Levi Lamborn on Alliance as it would to overstate his interests and varied careers. Physician, newspaperman, horticulturalist, politician, banker, and real estate developer only cover the highlights of his long life. With this book, the Alliance Historical Society would like to secure his place as our first local historian. Beginning in January 1873, Lamborn wrote a series of 34 articles recounting the labors, events, and people who shaped the first seven decades of our community. Lamborn's "History of Lexington Township" was published in the Alliance Weekly Local, the precursor to today's Alliance Review. All articles, many based on the accounts of participants and their children, are collected in this book.
