(nacida el 13 de noviembre de 1969 en Mogadiscio, Somalia) es una activista, escritora y política somalí-estadounidense reconocida por sus posturas críticas hacia el islam y su defensa de los derechos de las mujeres. Tras huir de un matrimonio arreglado, solicitó asilo en los Países Bajos, donde se integró en la sociedad y se dedicó a la política. Fue miembro del Parlamento holandés entre 2003 y 2006, enfocándose en temas de integración y derechos humanos.

Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentran "Infiel" (2007), una autobiografía que narra su vida desde Somalia hasta su activismo en Occidente; "Nómada" (2010), donde reflexiona sobre la integración de los musulmanes en las sociedades occidentales; y "Reformemos el Islam" (2015), en la que propone una reinterpretación del islam para adaptarlo a los valores democráticos.
