But despite Stephan's sacrifice, the mission goes awry, and instead of traveling into the past, the Progressive slingshots at least a thousand years into the future! But all is not lost, a mysterious appears, known only as Paladin the Blue, but bearing a striking resemblance to Stephan, but with none of his memories. While Paladin has no idea of who he is, he is thrust into the new war that humanity has found itself engaged in. And now, the fate of humanity depends on Paladin finding out who he is, and what he can do.
