The Prodigal Son - The Parable of Gabriel, is a work of fiction written by author David C. Fortygin. It is a secular and modern-day take on the famous Biblical parable that can be found in the Gospel of Luke. The book holds close to the Biblical parable, without being openly religious. This tale describes the accounts of a college-aged boy named Gabriel who comes across a journal three years after his mother passed away. Little did he know, that journal contained a drawing that would render his life changed forever. What he saw, in that moment, set him on course for the most reckless and profound experience of his life. Betrayed and misunderstood, Gabriel is blessed, or rather cursed, with an excessively large amount of money that inspires him to do the one thing that he never dared to do, run away from the place he previously called home. The Parable of Gabriel, is a story of losing oneself in the act of finding love, and finding oneself in the act of losing it all.
